Modified on Mon, 24 Feb at 8:56 PM

Adding an extra layer of security to your account with Two-Factor Authentication (2FA), also known as Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), helps protect your account and information. With 2FA enabled, you will need to verify your identity using a second method, such as a mobile app or authentication code, when logging in.

Enabling Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

  1. Log In to Your Navigatr Account: Visit Navigatr and sign in.
  2. Go to Login & Security: Click on your profile icon, select Settings, then navigate to Login & Security.
  3. Find the 2FA Option: Locate the Two-Factor Authentication section.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to enable 2FA.
  5. Choose a Verification Method:
    • Authenticator App: Use an app like Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator to generate secure codes.
    • Backup Codes: Store backup codes securely in case you lose access to your primary method.
  6. Confirm Setup: Enter the verification code provided by your chosen method to complete activation.

Managing 2FA Settings

  • Change Your 2FA Method: If you need to switch authentication methods, go to Login & Security and update your 2FA settings.
  • Disable 2FA: If you need to disable 2FA, you can do so in your account settings. However, this is not recommended for security reasons.
  • Lost Access?: If you lose access to your authentication method, contact [email protected] for assistance.

Why Enable 2FA?

  • Increased Security: Protects your account even if your password is compromised.
  • Prevents Unauthorised Access: Ensures only you can log in to your account.
  • Recommended for All Admins: Particularly important for provider and community administrators managing badge issuance.

Make Logging in Easier & Secure

For an even simpler and more secure login experience, you can also link your Google or LinkedIn account. This allows you to sign in without needing a password, providing both convenience and security.

Follow our step-by-step guide to link your account today.
