Automate Badge Issuing with a Form or Quiz

Set up a webhook to automatically issue Navigatr badges when learners complete a Riddle, Typeform, or Zoho form. Step-by-step setup instructions.

Written by Support Desk

Webhooks in Navigatr provide an automated way to issue digital badges when specific actions are completed in external platforms, such as form submissions or quiz completions. This allows organisations to integrate badge issuing into their existing workflows.

With webhooks, you can connect Navigatr to platforms like Riddle, Typeform, and Zoho Forms to automatically issue a badge when a user completes a form, quiz, or survey. This is also commonly referred to as a badge claim form: a simple form collecting a learner’s first name, last name, and email that triggers badge issuance automatically via the webhook.

How to access your webhook in Navigatr

  • Log in to your Navigatr Admin account.

  • Find the badge you want to issue automatically.

  • Click Issue and select Set up an integration.

  • Copy the Webhook URL provided.

  • You can also track how many times your webhook has been triggered.

Important note: Your Webhook URL is private and should be kept secure. Do not share it publicly.

Connecting your webhook to an external platform

Once you have your Webhook URL, you can integrate it with Riddle, Typeform, or Zoho Forms to trigger badge issuance when a form is completed.

1. Setting up a webhook in Riddle

  • Log in to Riddle.

  • Create or edit a form. The form must include the required fields:

    • First name

    • Last name

    • Email

  • Go to Publish > Save and Connect Data > Webhook.

  • Paste your Navigatr Webhook URL.

  • Click Continue to save the integration.

2. Setting up a webhook in Typeform

  • Log in to Typeform.

  • Create a new form or edit an existing one. The form must include:

    • First name

    • Last name

    • Email

  • Navigate to Connect > Webhooks.

  • Click Add a webhook and paste your Navigatr Webhook URL.

  • Click Save webhook.

3. Setting up a webhook in Zoho forms

  • Log in to Zoho Forms.

  • Open the form you want to integrate.

  • Go to Integrations > Webhooks.

  • Paste your Navigatr Webhook URL under Webhook URL.

  • Ensure the Content Type is set to application/json.

    • First name

    • Last name

    • Email

  • Click Save.

Testing your webhook

Riddle, Typeform, and Zoho Forms each send a test ping when you save a webhook. Navigatr detects these test payloads and responds with a success, but no badge is issued. This is by design: a test ping does not contain a real learner’s details.

To confirm the integration is working end-to-end, submit a real form entry (with a real first name, last name, and email) and check that the badge is issued:

  • Complete a real form submission using the connected platform.

  • Check Navigatr to confirm that the badge has been issued.

  • If the badge wasn’t issued, review the form settings to ensure:

    • The required fields (First name, Last name, Email) are correctly mapped.

    • The correct Webhook URL is being used.

Publish and share your form

  • Make your form public by adjusting the sharing settings in Riddle, Typeform, or Zoho Forms so participants can access and complete it.

  • Share the form link through email, social media, or by embedding it on your website to make it easily accessible.

  • Create a QR code for the form link so users can scan it and access the form instantly. This is useful for events, posters, or printed materials. You can generate a QR code using tools like Bitly or Hovercode. On Riddle, you can also use the built-in QR code generator.

  • Encourage users to complete the form so they automatically receive their badge through the webhook integration.

Final notes

  • Webhooks offer a fully automated way to issue badges without manual intervention.

  • Ensure that each form is correctly linked to the intended badge to prevent incorrect badge issuance.
