Ready to set up your Navigatr provider account and start issuing badges for your organisation? Follow these steps to get started and enjoy a free 14-day trial as a new provider.
Important note: You’ll need a work or organisation email address to sign up. Public email domains like Gmail or Yahoo can’t be used. This helps us verify issuers and build trust in the badges you create.
Start at Navigatr
On navigatr.app you’ll see two sign-up buttons. Choose the one for providers:
Select Start free trial (the outline button on the right). This starts the provider sign-up flow and lets you create and issue badges for your organisation.
Don’t select Sign up - that’s for learners who want to earn badges, and it won’t create a provider account.
Complete the sign-up form
Fill in your first name, last name, work email, and your organisation’s website. Use your organisation’s email address - public domains like Gmail or Yahoo aren’t accepted.
Your email address is checked against your organisation’s website to confirm you belong there. Emails on official UK addresses (such as .sch.uk, .gov.uk, .ac.uk, or .nhs.uk) are accepted automatically. If your organisation can’t be verified this way, a Let’s talk message appears so you can book a call or email [email protected] to get set up.
Create a password that meets the security requirements.
Accept the Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy, and Supply of Services Agreement.
Select Sign up to continue.
Verify your email
Check your inbox (or spam folder) for a verification email from Navigatr.
Select Verify my email in the email to confirm your account.
Complete your provider profile
After email verification, you’ll be asked for a few details about your organisation:
Organisation Name: Enter the name of your organisation.
Type: Choose what best describes your organisation. The options are Learning Provider, Training Provider, Awarding Body, Employer, Local Authority, University, College, Charity, Department, Project, or Other.
The first type of learning I want to recognise: Choose one of Informal, Training, Certifications, Qualifications, or Memberships.
Your Role: Specify your role at the organisation.
Select Next to continue.
Create your first badge with Badge Assistant
Badge Assistant will guide you through setting up your first badge:
Describe the achievement: Use the text box to describe what you want to recognise.
Get inspired: Check the example descriptions if you need ideas.
Select Create to generate your badge.
Review, publish, and issue your badge
Your new badge is saved as a draft. Here’s how to get it ready for issuing:
Review the badge to make sure all the details are correct.
Select Publish to finalise it. Only published badges can be issued.
Once published, you’re ready to award the badge.
Set up your provider branding
To make your profile look professional, open Settings from the admin sidebar and work through the branding sections:
Cover Photo: Add an eye-catching banner for your provider page.
Site Logo: Upload your organisation’s logo.
Brand Kit: Set the default look for your badges. Upload a Regular Logo (colour version for any background) and a Mono Logo (white version for dark backgrounds), then add your brand colours. The first colour in your list becomes the default for new badges.
Social Handles: Link your social media profiles.
Description: Write a short overview of your organisation’s mission and values.
During your trial
While you’re on the free trial, your provider is placed in a demo community. This means your badges, pathways, and activities won’t appear in Discover or the public map view until you upgrade to a paid plan. You can still create, issue, and share badges directly with your recipients - just public discovery is held back until you subscribe.
Explore the dashboard
Now that your provider account is set up and branded, take a moment to explore the dashboard, where you’ll manage badges, activities, and analytics.
You’re all set. With your free 14-day trial, you can start issuing badges and building meaningful recognition for achievements through Navigatr. Enjoy the journey.
Tip: If you’re having trouble signing up, check that you’re using a valid work email address. For further help, contact [email protected].
