Welcome to Navigatr. Your provider account is where you will create badges, manage your branding, issue recognition to learners, and track how your programmes are landing. This guide walks you through the first steps: getting set up, creating your first badge, and getting your organisation visible on the platform.
What your provider account does
Your provider account brings together everything you need to run a badging programme:
Create badges: use the AI Badge Assistant to generate a badge from a short description, or build one from scratch.
Manage your branding: upload your logo, set your brand colours, and link your social profiles so badges and your provider page look like you.
Issue and track: send badges to recipients, monitor uptake on the analytics dashboard, and see who has shared their badge onwards.
Build pathways: group related badges into a progression learners can work through.
Creating your first badge
Log in to Navigatr: head to navigatr.app and sign in with your provider admin account. If you do not have one yet, start a free trial.
Go to Content > Badges and click New.
Give the AI Badge Assistant a short description of what the badge recognises. It will draft the name, description, level, tags, and a badge image for you.
Review what the assistant produced and edit anything that needs a tweak: the title, the criteria, the image, or the framework alignment.
Save the badge as a draft, or publish it to make it available for issuing straight away.
Setting up your brand
Consistent branding makes badges instantly recognisable as yours. From your provider settings you can:
Upload your organisation’s logo, cover photo, and avatar.
Set your brand colours through the Brand Kit so they apply across new badges automatically.
Add links to your LinkedIn, X, Facebook, and Instagram profiles so learners can find you outside the platform.
Submitting your organisation for verification
Verification adds a green check mark next to your organisation’s name on your public provider page, signalling to learners that we have confirmed who you are. It is optional, and you can create and issue badges before verification is complete.
To request it, go to Settings in the admin menu, scroll to Submit for Verification, and complete the form:
Organisation Name: your official organisation name.
Organisation Email Address: a contact address for your organisation.
Phone Number: a contact number we can reach you on.
Company Number (optional): your Companies House number or equivalent.
More Information Link (optional): a link to a page on your website that describes your badging programme.
When you submit the form, the request comes through to us for review. Once we approve it, the green check mark appears on your public provider page. The text shown alongside the check mark and the link it points to are set by our team during approval.
Requesting additional features
Trial and standard provider accounts come with the core badging tools enabled. Other features sit behind permissions you can request when you need them. You will find them under Settings > Permissions:
Analytics: the full analytics dashboard covering badge performance, audience, and reach.
Members: add team members to your provider account with their own admin access.
Surveys: collect feedback from recipients after they earn a badge.
Job Feed: surface relevant job postings to learners who hold your badges.
Open University Push: push badges into the Open University ecosystem.
Add to Badge Library: make your badges discoverable in the public Badge Library.
Disabled features show a Request Feature button on their card. Clicking it raises a feature request with the Navigatr team, and you will receive a confirmation email to let you know the request is on its way to us. We will be in touch shortly after to talk through whether the feature fits your plan and how to get it enabled.
Where to go next
Once your first badge is live, these guides will help you build on it:
