Written by Support Desk

We respect your data rights, so you can download a copy of your personal data, including the badges you've earned, at any time for your records or personal use.

How to request a data download

  1. Go to navigatr.app and sign in.

  2. Click on your profile icon, and then select the Settings icon (gear symbol) at the top right of the profile page.

  3. In the settings menu, click on Data & Privacy.

Settings page with the Data & Privacy option highlighted in the left-hand menu
  4. Click Download My Badges and Data.

  5. A .zip file containing your data will be prepared on demand and streamed straight to your browser.

  6. Once ready, the file will download automatically, or you'll be prompted to save it.

What's included in the download

Your download is a .zip file with the following folders and contents:

  • Profile information (your name, contact details, preferences, and notification history).

  • Your earned badges, exported as Open Badge JSON files and Open Badge baked PNG images.

  • Activity attendances and pathway progress records.

  • Liked content across badges, pathways, activities, providers, and communities.

  • Admin invitations you have received.

  • Survey responses and outcome metrics.

  • Equality monitoring data, if you have provided any (see the note below).

  • Your profile picture.

Important notes

  • Equality monitoring data: if you have provided any equality monitoring information (sex, ethnicity, religion, and similar fields), it is included as a separate file (special_category.json) inside the profile folder. This is part of your right of access under GDPR.

  • Data from external providers: the download only includes information stored directly by Navigatr. Badges you imported from other platforms (such as Credly or Accredible via the wallet import feature) are stored as snapshots in your Navigatr data, but the originals remain on the source platform. To export from those platforms, contact them directly. See Open Badges Explained for details on wallet imports.

  • Data protection: keep your downloaded data secure, especially if it contains sensitive information. Consider storing it in a secure location and avoid sharing it with unauthorised individuals.
