You decide which badges appear on your profile. If you no longer want to show one, you can remove it. Changed your mind? You can undo it straight away, or restore it yourself any time in the next 14 days.
Remove a badge from your profile
Open the badge from the Badges tab on your profile.
Open the actions menu (the three dots next to Share) and select Remove Badge.
Check the message and select Remove.
You go back to your Badges tab, and the badge no longer shows on your profile.
Undo a removal straight away
Straight after you remove a badge, a Badge removed message appears at the bottom of the screen. Select Undo to bring the badge back.
The message only stays for a few seconds. If you miss it, you can still restore the badge from Recently removed.
Restore a badge from Recently removed
Badges you have removed are listed under Recently removed, at the bottom of the Badges tab on your profile. Only you can see this list.
To restore a badge:
Go to your profile and open the Badges tab.
Scroll to Recently removed.
Select the badge you want back.
You will see Badge restored and the badge is back on your profile, just as it was before you removed it. If its expiry date passed while it was removed, it comes back as expired.
Each badge in the list shows Restore by with a date and time in UK time. That is your last chance to restore it.
What happens while a badge is removed
It does not appear on your profile, so nobody visiting your profile can see it.
Links you have shared to it stop working, and anyone checking it with an Open Badges verifier will find it unavailable.
Restoring it within 14 days brings all of this back, including your shared links.
After 14 days, the badge is deleted for good and cannot be restored.
If you have copied the badge to another platform, such as LinkedIn, that copy depends on Navigatr to verify it. See Open Badges Explained for more.
Badges you cannot restore
A few badges work differently:
Badges you have not claimed yet. Removing one deletes it straight away, and the message before you confirm says so. If you do not want one, you can also use the rejection link in the issue email. See Claiming or Viewing Your Badge.
Badges removed before restoring was available. These do not appear under Recently removed.
Badges you already have another copy of. If the provider has issued the same badge to you again, you keep that copy and the removed one cannot be restored.
If you need help with any of these, contact the provider who issued the badge.
If a detail on a badge is wrong, such as your name or the expiry date, you do not need to remove it. You can ask the provider to correct it instead. See Claiming or Viewing Your Badge.
