What’s New?


New: Analytics (Beta)



The Analytics feature is now in beta. Contact us to enable it for your community or provider. Your feedback is highly valued for future improvements. Learn how to use the Analytics dashboard.

Key Features:

  • Compare Data:
    • Compare one or two dimensions of data, including badges, date ranges, and/or providers.
    • Example: See how in-person learning compares to other learning methods in your community. 
  • Export Data (CSV): Export your content and/or badge assertions to integrate with other systems or spreadsheets.
  • Page Printing: Save data as a PDF or print hard copies directly from your browser.
  • Make Image: Copy charts as images for presentations or reports.

Impressions (Beta)


The Analytics page now includes metrics such as:

  • Page hits.
  • Social media posts.
  • Share button clicks.

Additionally, a table view shows content alongside metrics like hits, posts, and share clicks. Aggregated counters reveal how individuals found your content:

  • Via Discover.
  • As the first result clicked in Discover.
  • From Maps or specific pages (Community, Provider, Badge, Activity, or Pathway).

Admin Management Improvements

  • Column Reordering: Admin tables now prioritise meaningful data, reducing horizontal scrolling.
  • Multi-Select: Select multiple items in tables even while filtering or searching.
  • Filters: Quickly filter content by type or status using the Filters button or status chips. The eye icon in the status column shows whether content is publicly discoverable.
  • Pathways containing non-issuable badges are highlighted with a red warning.

Statistics: Now with Trends!


View metrics relative to 7, 14, 30, 90, 180, or 365 days ago.



Changes


✈️ Improved User Experience

A paper aeroplane icon appears if a page takes longer than a couple of seconds to load.


✏️ General Admin Changes

The globe icon in the top-right of admin pages is now the button to view your public-facing page.


✉️ Admin Invites

Updated messaging explains if invites failed due to invalid emails or delays.


Activities

  • Calendar attachments are excluded from emails for activities spanning over 30 days.
  • Evidence is now automatically added to badges issued for activity attendance.
  • Emails are sent when activities are cancelled.
  • Attendees can be marked as attending after the activity ends.
  • A “View Details” button has been added to the summary page for quick access to activity details.
  • Shared activities now display the date and time on social platforms.

Badges

  • Badges require an image (PNG only) to be published to ensure OpenBadge 2.0 compliance.
  • Recipients without Navigatr accounts who mark badge emails as spam are flagged in the Recipients tab. Reach out to clarify your relationship to the recipient and encourage them to claim or reject their badge.

Pathways

  • Maximum number of steps increased to 12.
  • Improved job feed to reduce expired job listings.

Fixes


  • Resolved intermittent 500 errors.
  • Fixed deletion of content for deleted communities/providers.
  • Addressed completed pathway steps appearing in the wrong order.
  • Fixed missing images in activity emails (e.g., Gmail).
  • Fixed badge issuing for emails with special characters (e.g., apostrophes).
  • Corrected “You got a badge!” notifications to open the awarded badge.
  • Ensured badge criteria require a type before publishing.
  • Improved accuracy of admin tables showing creators and modifiers.
  • Resolved low-quality badge images in embeds on high-resolution displays.
  • Fixed “Duplicate” incorrectly appearing for community admins.
  • Enhanced handling of multiple clicks on links, reducing 404 errors.
  • Improved error handling for unsupported WebGL maps on older computers.

General Improvements


  • More informative error messages for badge issuing failures.
  • Faster saving when many tags are added/removed.
  • Improved results with AI Badge Assistant.
  • Improved print functionality for browsers.
  • Enhanced performance for communities and providers with hundreds of badges.
  • Added monitoring tools for identifying technical issues and sluggishness.

API Updates


New Features:

  • Added country and cityfields to endpoints like:
    • /user_detail/
    • /badge/
    • /badge_assertion/
    • /community/
    • /provider/
  • Introduced rate limiting: 5 requests per second.
  • Added API Terms of Service and an Integration Considerations section to the API home page.
  • Tags that match Lightcast Skills are automatically enhanced.

OpenBadge 2.0 Compliant

Navigatr is now officially OpenBadge 2.0 compliant, reflected in the data export under My Data in Settings.
