What’s New?
Introducing the Badge Library
The new Badge Library launches today, incorporating OpenLearn badges into Navigatr. This feature enables you to design pathways using badges from the Badge Library, allowing learners to discover and earn badges from other partners as part of your pathways.
By utilising the existing e-learning content created by the Open University and other partners, you can:
- Save time and resources.
- Provide learners with new opportunities to gain prestigious recognition from the Open University.
- Allow badges earned on the Open University platform to be showcased in learners' profiles.
How it works:
- A new sidebar Badge Selector replaces the previous drop-down list for choosing badges.
- Direct editing or issuing of Badge Library badges is managed by the partner (e.g., Open University).
- Analytics dashboards allow you to monitor the impact of learning from Badge Library badges.
Future Expansion:
We plan to continuously add new content from partners into the Badge Library, expanding opportunities for learners.
Aligning Cover Photos
You can now set the vertical alignment of cover photos for your community and provider. Adjustments can be made in Admin Settings for better presentation.
Changes
Ranking (Previously “Rating”)
The ambiguous scoring system has been replaced with Ranking:
- Trending: Content in the top 10%.
- Emerging: Content at or above the 50% percentile.
- Growing: Content below the 50% percentile.
Where to View Rankings:
- Statistics tab: For an activity, badge, or pathway.
- Summary page: For a community or provider.
Ranks are calculated against similar published content across Navigatr, and higher-ranking content is more likely to appear in Discover.
Activities
- Added an Activity Type filter to the Activities table.
Badges
- Enhanced the interface when clicking Issue, providing more details about available options.
- Added a shortcut to create an activity for a badge directly from the Issue button.
- Introduced an Endorsements filter to find badges with or without an endorsement.
Pathways
- You can now add Open University badges to your pathways.
- Published pathways can now be edited without affecting existing users' progress:
- Badges can be changed, and steps can be removed.
- New steps cannot be added after users join a pathway, to maintain fairness.
- Individuals can delete unwanted pathways from their profiles.
Analytics
- Compare Data now includes Provider Name and Start Date for comparison.
- Improved the interface when selecting a badge or provider to filter.
Fixes
- Resolved an issue where calendar invites could not be sent due to special characters in the activity name.
- Added error messages when creating a provider with a name already taken.
- Improved checks when deleting badges belonging to another provider.
- Optimised the performance of background operations.
- Enhanced bulk actions for multiple items in tables for faster performance.
- Various fixes and improvements to the API and website experience.
