What’s New?
This update brings a pack of improvements for issuing badges and engaging individuals.
New Sign-Up Link on Your Community Page
It’s now even easier for individuals to join your community and engage with local badges, activities, and pathways! When logged out, you’ll notice a new sign-up link on your community profile page. Individuals signing up from here will appear in your community analytics immediately. Simply share this link to boost engagement.
Directly Issue Badges via QR Code
Simplify the badge issuing process for your in-person events—even without creating an activity on the system. Skip the email lists! Just scan the user’s unique profile QR code to award their badge instantly.
This quick and secure method is perfect for busy in-person events.
Seamless Badge Earning with Library Cards
Empower individuals without devices or reliable internet connections to participate and earn recognition using Library Cards. Library card holders in Cambridge and Peterborough (Region of Learning) can now:
- Earn badges.
- Build a skills profile on Navigatr.
Perfect for in-person events, this feature ensures everyone can be recognised for their engagement and skills development.
Users will be notified about linking their library card in their profile and on relevant community content.
Earn Badges Using Your Link
Sometimes, earning badges starts outside Navigatr. Use the optional Earn URL field to:
- Link to a course (e.g., Open University).
- Provide a quiz or form for badge issuance.
To enable, edit your badge and add the Earn URL field.
"Bookmark" is Now "Follow"
We’ve updated terminology to better align with how young people and social media users interact. “Following” is more intuitive and actionable than “bookmarking”:
- Follow a badge to discover opportunities to earn it.
- Follow an activity to attend it.
- Follow a pathway that aligns with your goals.
This is just a name change—existing bookmarks (now follows) can still be found in your profile.
Changes
- The admin summary now includes a card for enabling two-factor authentication.
- Analytics Enhancements:
- Added “Issued Method” under the Engagement / Badges Issued tab.
- Included more comparison data points (name, type, status).
- A new column in the Recipients table shows “Issue Method”.
- Unlisted content is now labelled as Unlisted in the admin interface.
- Removed the “Outcomes” filter from Discover.
- Email addresses with apostrophes are now accepted.

- Floating action button toggling between admin and public on mobile.
- Several Analytics Compare Data tool bugs.
- Date filters returning no results.
- Badge results now show all statuses (not just “Claimed”).
