Enabling Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Protect your Navigatr account with Two-Factor Authentication (2FA). Learn how to enable MFA, manage your settings, and recover access if needed.

Adding an extra layer of security to your account with Two-Factor Authentication (2FA), also known as Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), helps protect your account and information. With 2FA enabled, you will need to verify your identity using a second method, such as a code from an authenticator app, when logging in.

2FA is configured in your secure account console, which you reach from your Navigatr account settings. Your MFA status is shown on your Navigatr profile, but the enrolment itself is handled in the account console.

Why enable 2FA?

  • Increased security: Protects your account even if your password is compromised.

  • Prevents unauthorised access: Ensures only you can log in to your account.

  • Peace of mind for your achievements: Keeps your badges, pathways, and profile safe from anyone else signing in as you.

Enabling Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

  1. Sign in to your Navigatr account.

  2. Click on your profile icon, select Settings, then click Login & Security.

  3. Open the Signing In section and choose to set up an authenticator app under Two-Factor Authentication.

  4. Open an authenticator app on your phone, such as Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator, and scan the QR code shown on screen.

  5. Enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app to confirm setup and activate 2FA.

  6. When the account console shows recovery codes, save them somewhere safe (a password manager works well). You will need them if you lose access to your authenticator app.

Managing 2FA settings

  • Change your authenticator: Return to Login & Security in your Navigatr settings to reopen the account console, then update your 2FA setup there.

  • Lost access?: Use one of the recovery codes you saved during setup to sign in, then re-enrol your authenticator app. If you no longer have your recovery codes, contact [email protected] for assistance.

Make logging in easier and secure

For an even simpler and more secure login experience, you can also link your Google, LinkedIn, or Microsoft account. This allows you to sign in without needing a password, providing both convenience and security.

Tip: If you have any issues setting up or managing 2FA, contact [email protected].
