Understanding Pathways on Navigatr

Understand what a pathway is on Navigatr: how steps and badges fit together, how to take part, and where to find pathways.

Written by Support Desk

On Navigatr, a pathway is a guided journey made up of badges. You work through it one step at a time, earning a badge at each stage, and some pathways award a completion badge when you reach the end.

What is in a pathway

A pathway is built from a series of steps:

  • Each step contains one or more badges to earn.

  • You work through the steps, building up badges as you go.

  • Some pathways finish with a completion badge, awarded automatically once every step is done.

  • Some pathways include short surveys that help the organisation understand your experience.

For more on pathway surveys, see Completing a Pathway Survey.

How you take part

Once you have found a pathway you want to follow, click Start. To progress through it, earn at least one badge from each step. Click a badge within a step to see how to earn it; see Earning a Badge for the different ways badges are earned.

The pathway is marked complete automatically once you have finished every step, and if it has a completion badge, that badge is issued to you automatically. See Taking Part in a Pathway.

An expired pathway is no longer available to start. Any badges you have already earned from its steps stay in your Badges tab.

Tip: Read the pathway page, and each badge's page, thoroughly; they may include extra instructions on how to earn a badge or complete the pathway.

Where your pathways live

Every pathway you've started or completed appears on your profile under the Pathways tab. From there you can click on each pathway to view its details, share it, and view your progress.
