What’s New?
Building on update 1 this month, the Navigatr development team has been working hard to:
- Strengthen connections between learning experiences and potential career prospects.
- Help learning providers collaborate on pathways.
- Implement visual updates for better accessibility.
Job Feed
After introducing the powerful smart skills feature powered by Lightcast data earlier this month, we are excited to announce that Navigatr pathways can now display live job vacancies based on those skills. These vacancies include:
- Full-time and part-time jobs.
- Apprenticeships and internships.
Key Features:
- Results consider an individual's profile preferences and location.
- Filters allow for quick job customisation directly from the feed.
- Display jobs from a specific company—perfect for pathways leading to specific roles or apprenticeships.

Our CTO, Omid Mufeed, will discuss Navigatr’s mission to connect badges to jobs using Lightcast’s Global Skills Classification in digital badge pathways.
Career Aspirations
Users can now specify their current and future career plans in the new Career Aspirations section under Settings. This data directly influences the job feed, offering more personalised results.
Better Collaboration on Pathways
Pathways can now be attached to multiple providers, enabling better collaboration across teams. Adding a provider allows them to make edits—this is only possible while the pathway is in draft mode. Once an individual starts the pathway, changes are locked.
Other Changes
- Visual: Added emphasis to completed steps.
- Visual: Checkbox/radio buttons now align left on mobile, matching desktop behaviour.
- Visual: Improved presentation of metadata for activities, badges, and pathways on the right sidebar.
Other Fixes
- Fixed invisible Discover cards when the reduced motion accessibility option is enabled.
- Resolved issues with badge images downloading in the wrong format.
- Fixed errors duplicating pathways.
- Resolved issues creating a new account immediately after deleting it.
- Added “Publish” to the menu for activities and pathways.
- Prevented the help widget from appearing in the terms/privacy section during sign-up.
- Reduced resource loading on website initialisation.
API Updates
- General bug fixes, housekeeping, and reliability improvements.
- Enhanced performance with additional caching.
- Configured automatic error reporting.
