Claiming or Viewing Your Badge

Earned a badge on Navigatr? Here's how to view, claim and share it, whether you're brand new to the platform or already have an account.

Earned a badge? Badges are digital credentials that verify your skills, achievements, or participation. They provide trusted recognition that you can share to highlight what you’ve accomplished.

If you already have a Navigatr account, we automatically add new badges to your profile. If you don’t have a Navigatr account, you’ll need to set one up to claim your badge.

When you earn a badge, we’ll notify you by email with instructions on how to view or claim it. The process varies slightly depending on whether you already have a Navigatr account.

For new Navigatr users

  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to register using the email address where you received the badge notification

  4. Check your inbox for a verification email and click the link to confirm your account

  5. Log in to Navigatr and click the ‘Badges’ tab in your profile to view your badge

Bringing in a badge from another platform

If you’ve earned a digital badge on Credly, Accredible, Moodle, Canvas Badges, or another platform that issues Open Badges, you can import it into your Navigatr wallet so all your achievements live in one place.

What’s next?

Now that you have your badge, here are a few things you can do with it:

Don’t want a badge?

If you didn’t want to receive this badge, you have two options depending on whether you’ve already claimed it:

  • Reject: If the badge is still Pending (you haven’t claimed it yet), use the rejection link in the issue email. You don’t need a Navigatr account, and the badge is permanently disposed of.

  • Remove: If the badge is already in your profile, open its actions menu and select Remove Badge. This is permanent. To get the badge back, you’ll need to ask the provider to reissue it.

Need something corrected?

If the badge itself is right but a detail is wrong, such as your name being misspelled, your organisation having changed, or the expiry date being too soon, ask the issuer to fix it instead of removing the badge.

Claim the badge first: change requests are only available on a badge that is already in your profile, and only on badges issued on Navigatr, not ones you imported from another platform.

  1. Open the badge from your profile.

  2. Choose Request Changes from the badge’s actions menu. On a claimed badge that hasn’t been verified yet, there is also a Request Changes button next to Verify.

  3. Edit your first name or surname, tick "Request an extension to the expiry date" if the badge has one, and add a reason if it helps. If the badge already records an organisation, you can correct that too.

  4. Send the request. The issuer is notified, and you’ll get a notification and an email once they have reviewed it.

A few things to know:

  • You can have one open request at a time, and one request every 30 days. If you’re inside that window the button tells you the date you can request again.

  • The issuer decides on each change separately, so some parts of a request can be approved and others declined. You’ll see the reason for anything declined.

  • If your badge is already verified, changing your name can remove the verified tick: it is checked automatically against the name on your account, so it only stays if the two still match.
