Activities on Navigatr are the talks, workshops, courses, and events that lead to badges. Registering tells the organiser you plan to come along, and unlocks a few extra tools to help you get there: a calendar invite, reminder emails, and your personal check-in QR code.
How to register
Find the activity you want to attend through Discover, a community page, or a direct link, then open its page.
If the activity is open for sign-ups, you will see an Attend button at the top of the page. Click it to register.
Some activities may need you to book a ticket elsewhere before you can attend. After clicking Attend, you will be prompted to book a ticket. If you haven't already, click Book Ticket to go to the external booking site and reserve your place.
What happens after you register
Once you have registered, four things happen:
The activity appears in your profile under the Activities tab with an Attending label.
You receive a confirmation email from us.
For activities under 30 days long, the email includes an .ics calendar attachment you can add straight to Outlook, Apple Calendar, or Google Calendar.
We'll send you reminder emails one day and then one hour before the activity begins to make sure you don't miss it.
Attending an activity
Check the activity's description, any notes shown on the activity page, or messages the organiser has sent you for extra details about when and where to attend.
In-person activities
When the activity starts, head to the address listed on the activity page. Tap Get Directions to open the address in your preferred mapping app.
Once you arrive, you may need to show your QR code so the organiser can register your attendance. Tap Show QR Code in the activity page header to display it. See Understanding Your Personal QR Code for more.
Online activities
When the activity starts, tap Join online in the activity page header to open the meeting room.
Hybrid activities
Hybrid activities offer both options. Use whichever fits your plans for the day: show your QR code in person, or tap Join online to attend remotely.
Tip: If you have any questions about when or where to attend, contact the organiser directly — click their name on the activity page to find their contact details.
Cancelling your registration
Plans change. If you can no longer make it, head back to the activity page and click Not going. We will remove you from the attendee list and free up your spot for someone else.
If the organiser set a separate booking link for the activity (for example a ticketing site), the cancellation dialog reminds you of that link so you can cancel through their booking system too.
If the activity changes
Once you are registered, we keep you in the loop if anything about the activity changes:
Date or address change: you receive an email and an in-app notification with the new details.
Activity cancelled: you receive an email and an in-app notification letting you know it will not be going ahead.
In-app notifications appear in the For You tab on your profile.
Tip: If you run into trouble registering or cancelling, get in touch at [email protected].
