Some things used to be fixed the moment you saved them. A badge issued with the wrong name stayed wrong. An activity could point at a video, but not hold one. This update is about the things you can now change.
Key features
Correcting a badge after you have issued it
If someone spots a mistake on a badge they have earned, they can now ask you to put it right. They open the badge, choose Request Changes, and tell you what needs correcting. You get a notification.
You review the request and either make the change or decline it. Once a request is resolved there is a short wait before the same badge can be asked about again, so nobody can flood you with them.
You do not have to wait to be asked. Open one of your badges, go to the Recipients tab, and use Edit Details on any recipient to correct the name it was issued to, the organisation, or the expiry date.
This applies to badges issued through Navigatr. A badge someone imported from another platform cannot be corrected here, because it is not ours to change.
How to access: open a badge you hold and choose Request Changes. As an admin, open your badge and use Edit Details on the Recipients tab. For more, see Managing Badge Recipients and Claiming or Viewing Your Badge.
Videos and forms inside an activity
An activity can now hold content instead of linking away to it. Add a YouTube or Vimeo video, a Google Doc, Sheet, Slides or Form, or a Typeform, Tally or Riddle quiz, and it opens inside the activity page.
You can add more than one, and give each a title so attendees know what they are looking at. We support these providers specifically rather than accepting any embed code, which keeps the page safe for the people visiting it.
How to access: paste the link into Embed Link when you create or edit an activity. For more, see Embedding Videos and Interactive Content.
Handing over admin access
If you are the only admin on a provider or community, handing that over used to mean buying a second seat and moving things across by hand. Now you can pass it straight to someone else.
Choose Switch administrator, pick the person taking over, and confirm. They get the admin role and you step back. No extra seat needed.
How to access: open Admins in your admin sidebar and choose Switch administrator. If you look after several providers, see Multi-Provider Management.
Pages that sound like you
Providers now have an About Tab, the same custom page communities have had. Use it to say who you are in your own words, rather than leaving a visitor with only a list of badges.
Your links can carry your own wording too. Where a page showed a plain More Information link, you can set a Link Label of up to 20 characters instead, so it reads something like View on our website. That works on activities, badges and the sections of your About Tab, and communities and providers can label their website link.
People can add social links to their profile as well, and communities now have the social handles providers already had.
How to access: About Tab is in your admin sidebar. Link Label appears under the link it renames. For more, see Customising Your About Tab and Customising Your Organisation Profile.
Changes
You can search your members by skill tag, and a member's skills are grouped by category when you open them. For more on skills, see Skills, Endorsements, and Standards.
Pathway and activity views now show whether each badge in a step is available.
Provider and community statistics update when a badge is issued, rather than waiting for the next refresh.
Admins now see the Join button on community and provider pages.
Names accept up to 255 characters, so longer names are no longer cut short.
Notifications no longer collide when two pathways share a name.
We now name Intercom in our cookie and privacy policies, record which version of the policy you agreed to, and give you a way to withdraw that agreement.
Bug fixes
A badge imported from another platform no longer shows an error when you open it from its assertion page.
Sharing a badge to X or Telegram now produces a working link.
A badge shows the name it was issued to, even when only a first or last name was set.
A long recipient name now fits on one line of a certificate.
A pathway no longer shows an error when its steps have changed since a learner started it.
Settings now tells you if a name change failed to save.
The text cursor sits in the right place in empty fields in Safari.
The Sharing Clicks card in analytics no longer overlaps its help icon.
API and integrations
Our public API documentation is available again in production. The advanced API stays private.
A badge created through the API or the CLI without an image now gets a Navigatr Badge Framework image generated on our side, so it no longer arrives without artwork. Artwork on an existing badge can be re-rendered too.
Rate limits are now enforced in production. If you integrate with us, handle a
429response by waiting and retrying.
What this means for you
Learners: If a badge you have earned is wrong, you can ask for it to be corrected from the badge itself. Activities may now include videos and forms you can use without leaving the page, and you can add social links to your profile.
Providers: You can correct an issued badge yourself, hand over admin access without buying another seat, put videos and forms inside your activities, and give your provider page an About Tab in your own words.
Communities: The same tools, across your providers, plus social handles and a custom label for your website link.
Developers: Public API docs are back, rate limits are enforced, and a badge created without an image now gets one.
Need help? If you have any questions about correcting badges, activity embeds, or handing over admin access, the easiest way to reach us is through the in-app messenger inside Navigatr. You can also email us at [email protected].
