How to Issue Badges via QR Code

Modified on Wed, 18 Dec, 2024 at 1:13 PM

Issuing badges via QR Code is an efficient way to award badges using a user’s unique QR code, without needing to share their email address. Badges issued through this method are claimed immediately and automatically added to the user's badge profile. It’s ideal for in-person events, workshops, or training sessions.

Steps to Issue Badges via QR Code

  1. Log in to Your Navigatr Account
    • Go to the Admin Dashboard and navigate to Content > Badges.
    • Select the badge you would like to issue.
    • If you haven’t created and published your badge yet, search for the article How to Create a Badge.
  2. Choose the QR Code Issuing Option
    • Click Issue and select Via QR Code from the list of options.
  3. Start Scanning to Issue the Badge
    • The QR Code scanner will open and activate your device’s camera.
    • Hold the recipient’s QR Code up to the scanner until it is successfully read.
    • Note: The recipient’s QR Code can be found in their Navigatr user profile. If they don’t have a Navigatr account, ask them to sign up as an individual to generate their unique QR Code.
    • A confirmation message will appear once the badge has been issued.
  4. Track Badge Issuance
    • Go to the Recipients tab of the badge to check who has been issued the badge.
    • Badges issued via QR Code are claimed automatically, so no further action is required by the recipient.

Important Notes

  • QR Code issuing eliminates the need to share recipient email addresses.
  • Ensure recipients have their Navigatr profile QR Codes ready for scanning. If they don’t have an account, they can sign up as an individual on Navigatr.
  • The same badge can be issued to multiple recipients using their unique QR Codes.
